To complement the 100 Block series, check out the latest issue of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks which hits the newsstands September 4th. In this issue you will find lots of wonderful ideas how to use those blocks featured in past issues of 100 Blocks.
If you have been following along through Quiltmaker’s 100 Block series, you may have seen my “Buckle Up” block in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 4.
I had such fun making this block, playing with all kinds of fabric combinations for the baskets and flowers. Did you notice my use of the yellow gingham for the baskets sash? That’s because every Gingham Girl creation needs to have a bit of gingham in it!
Starting with the original block, I expanded the block into a runner using vines flowing from the basket and added flowers along this new vine. To frame my runner I added a border repeating the belt and buckle from the original block.
Visit the Gingham Girls website and see our complete line of patterns, kits and fabrics. As a bonus, we made up a few kits so you can make your own All Buckled Up runner.
Post a comment here to be entered to win a copy of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Fall 2012 issue!
The winner will be posted here later this week!
Enjoy!

Your belt and buckle design make a great outer border for your table runner! What a creative idea!
Lovely runner. I love your choice of colors.
I love your round-petaled flowers and belt buckles together! Super cute. Do you do fusible appliqué or needle-turn for those petals? Each little circle looks so smooth and perfect. I’m afraid I’d end up with flower petals that looked like lumpy rocks.
I use circle templates with sizing to perpare my circles for either hand or machine applique. It’s the best way to get those perfectly round circles! There’s a good video on the Connecting Threads that shows the method. Here’s the link for making perfect circles. http://www.connectingthreads.com/tutorials/Applique_tools_youll_love__D59.html
Of all the examples that have been pictured on blogs, this is my absolute favorite. Love the table runner and would love to enter your giveaway.
