About Us
Ann Weber - the younger sister. Like many quilter’s, I started sewing as a child. I loved making clothes for my dolls. I could spend hours creating all kinds of fashions for my dolls from scraps my mother and aunt would give me. As a teen I began to make clothes for myself. Sometimes they fit and sometimes they didn’t. Later after getting married, I began to sew for the home. Shortly before my daughter was born, seventeen years ago, I made my first quilt. A simple six block quilt that I hand tied. That was it, I was hooked! Over the years I have purchased lots of patterns, shelves of books and of course tons of fabric! After many years of what I like to call the “learning years” I used my patterns and books to guide and teach me. Slowly I began to break out and create my own designs. I have been designing quilts for McCall’s Quilting and McCall’s Quick Quilts since 2003. I have also, published patterns with Quiltmaker, American Patchwork & Quilting, Pat Sloan & Co. and Red Rooster Fabrics. Joanne Rowicki – the shorter sister. Like many others, I began sewing clothes when I was very young and continued doing so until I discovered quilting…now I never make clothing! I actually pieced my first quilt top in 1977, however, it is still not quilted. I renewed my interest in quilting twelve years ago. My first love is to machine appliqué but I have tried just about every quilting technique. I tend to work with medium to darker colors but recently I have enjoyed working with brights, pastels, and batiks. Moving out of my comfort zone has allowed me to grow in my creativity. I have previously published designs for McCall's Quilting, McCall's Quick Quilts and Pat Sloan & Co.
